RF and MATV

Not so long ago the following practices were common elements in communications system design; distributing an RF signal from a roof-mounted antenna system, modulating local video sources, injecting the modulated signal into an antenna feed, and combining the inputs of several modulated sources with multiple directional antenna systems. But contrary to common rumors, RF and MATV design and installation are far from dead technologies. In fact, RF distribution may be a vital element in contemporary digital signage infrastructure. Beyond this, the ability to access off-air broadcast has never been more important or more rewarding with a simple antenna now that it has the ability to access multiple HDTV and HD radio signals.

In this seminar, participants will be exposed to the concepts of RF spectrum allocation, RF trunk-line basics, understanding RF power levels in dBmV (decibel-millivolt), RF equalization, tap-splitter basics and balancing an RF distribution system. From schools to office buildings, and sports bars to residential installations, the importance of fully incorporating broadcast capabilities into any A/V system installation will only grow. At the completion of this seminar, participants will have a solid understanding of why MATV is critical, how it has changed in the last three years, and what concepts must be mastered in order to turn opportunity into profit.Presented in association with CablesToGo
This webinar is approved for AIA, InfoComm, CEDIA and BICSI continuing education credits.

Webinars FAQs:

Q) I have to leave early - will this webinar be available on your website?
A) We record all of our webinars, and we try to upload only one webinar per topic (we try to pick the best one as far as quality of audio, quality of video, number of questions, and number of interruptions).  We make the recorded versions available here: http://www.hermanelectronics.com/herman/archived.asp?subpage=61

Q) Can you email me the powerpoint for this presentation?
A) Presentations created for the Herman Webinar Series are created by our partners, and therefore are their intellectual property (IP), and we technically have no rights to distribute them.  However, if there is one that you need, please email us at webinars@hermanelectronics.com and we will forward your request to that partner, and they will be able to respond to your request.

Q) The webinar I attended has industry renewal credits (CTS RU, NSCA LU) associated with it, and I have not received a certificate of completion yet - when can I expect that?
A) Most of our webinars have CTS RUs associated with them, and most are provided by our partners that are presenting them. Those partners let us know the terms of how they determine who gets credit (e.g. pass a quiz, attend, etc).  Most of the time, certificates of completion are sent out to attendees within 10-15 business days through email in a pdf (Adobe Acrobat) format. If it has been longer than that, please email us at webinars@hermanelectronics.com

Q) There was supposed to be a quiz at the end of the webinar attended, but it did not pop up in my browser - can I still take the quiz and get my industry renewal?
A) If there was a technical error, please email us at webinars@hermanelectronics.com so we can find a work around.

Q) I accidentally registered for more than one time session, but I can only attend one - is there a way I can cancel my previous registration?
A) Unfortunately no, but don't worry about it - if you can't make it at one of the times just simply do not attend that session, but make sure you click on the link for the proper session (otherwise you may get a "webinar loading" message for a very long time).
